Hot Fuzz

Go. See. It.

This was seriously one of the best movie experiences I've had in recent months. I am a big fan of how Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright do this whole "parody" thing, like they did with Shaun of the Dead. It's not straight up parody, it's not really mocking the movie genre. It's an homage, and therefore is played with truth and sincerity and total 100% comittment.

Anyway, and I'm just a huge Simon Pegg and Nick Frost fan. Especially Pegg. It's amazing that the straight man in a comedy can get the most laughs, which further enlivens my belief that to be successful in a comedic role you must fully believe in and be comitted to your actions and words, and never consider even for a moment that what you are doing may come across as comical. It's just who you are, so why should it be funny? That simple realization has helped me get over the habit of breaking on stage, which I used to be pretty bad at.

Anyway. Hot Fuzz. See it. In the theater. You won't be sorry!

I can has new headshots?

I had new headshots taken last weekend, and oh my lawdy. They are lovely. I'm really happy with how they turned out, and even MORE happy that the photographer I went to charges much much less than a lot of other headshot photogs in town, and also gives you so much more in terms of time and energy. If you are ever in the market for headshots or portraits, please go see John. He really is fantastic.

Here are the "finalists", chosen out of about 300 shots. [update: retouched now! Hot!]
