Speaking to me today...

For You Today: A Kitty Break

I'm sure you all know by now what a huge nerd I am about my kitties. I embrace this fact. :) So today I bring you some recent photos, chosen from literally hundreds, so I can brag about how cute and funny my boys are. The last one is the best in my opinion!

Enjoy!

Little Women :: Photo Time

Me and my "sisters." :) And wonderful sisters they are, too.

If you can't tell which is which: from left to right Meg (Jenny - golden voice, so gorgeous & funny), Amy (Kaitlyn - all cute & sweet 5 feet of her!), Beth (that's me!) and Jo (Sandy - total powerhouse & has this bold spirit I can only barely aspire to.) Those are my sisters!

Opening went great - wonderful audience and they were very good to us. My voice is slowly coming back, as is my confidence in using it. So by closing night in 6 weeks I should be ready to get this show going!!

I hope you are enjoying these first days of spring. As soon as I can use my sense of smell again I know I will be! :)

Sick Day (+ 100 Posts)

I believe this is my 101st post! Quite a milestone. I was just going over some of the oldest posts, and it was quite a journey to think back about what I was doing and experiencing during that time.

Today what I am experiencing is a day at home in bed with a fever of 101.6 and some crazy chest & sinus congestion. I've been fighting this thing off for the past week (including four very stressful performances), and my body finally gave in to it last night. I'm downing all kinds of fluids and resting up, in hopes of being all better for this week's official opening night of Little Women. Finger's crossed!

Baked Goods and Wisteria

Two things I can't seem to get enough of lately.

The former started with a bunch of birthdays among the cast of my show (for which I made lots of cupcakes, cookies etc.) and I just seem to be on a roll with baking now (get it?? On a roll?? HA! Sometimes I just kill me!) Zucchini bread, banana chocolate bread, bran muffins, scotch infused "gentlemen's brownies"...and I have more planned! I'm out of control...

Cloudy Friday

I write this from the living room couch, sipping on a cup of tea with a certain furry kitty happily purring beside me, watching the wind push around the trees and newly blooming wisteria outside. Today wasn't supposed to turn so gloomy, but I'll take it, enjoy it, and save it up for a sunny day. :)

My time lately has been consumed with many rehearsals for Little Women, which I anticipate being a wonderful show... I love the story, love the cast, love the music... and love my character! For those of you who've read the book, I know you probably identify the most with one particular sister, and for me Beth is one of the girls I find myself closest to (I can never decide if I'm more of a Beth or a Jo! Somewhere in between I guess.) Anyway, I hope to post pictures soon! We start performing next Thursday...

I can't believe it's almost here, but I'll very glad to have all my evenings back to spend with Chad, who has been temping full time as a loan specialist, trying to help us climb out of debt. That's been very hard for him, especially because it is not the friendliest work environment, but knowing that it is only temporary is some kind of consolation.

Another consolation to him is that he was called out of the blue recently to take a small part on "The Bold and The Beautiful"! He sent his resume to the casting director more than half a year ago, and they selected him from his photo to play a younger version of one of the characters in a flashback scene. It is pretty exciting, considering it will be a "real" television credit on his resume, which can really help get a foot in the door for other opportunities.

I have not been doing as much tv or film auditions (I just don't get called in for them, probably I don't have the right look for a lot of projects), but I've had a couple of theatrical auditions lately that I feel really good about, including a very cool outdoor summer Shakespeare festival of sorts, so we'll see if anything develops from those. I hope so!

I hope you are all feeling the pull of spring boosting your energy and getting you outside! And don't forget to 'spring forward' this Sunday!
