PNW Christmas 2010

We had an absolutely fab-oo trip back to the good old Pacific Northwest for Christmas, and as usual we were blessed beyond measure by our friends and family who are always so eager to take in a couple of ragamuffins like us! Our visits back to Seattle are always far too short, and I feel like the minute we arrive we have to turn around and fly back to LA... Here's hoping in 2011 we'll find our way back north more often than just at Christmas time.

There are way too many stories to tell and memories to relive, and far too many people to thank, so here are a few of my favorite photos from our short visit home!

Our hatches have been battened down for almost a week now, as we have been undergoing a seriously bizarre rainy streak. You know I love it, but what I don't love is dealing with all the drivers that don't share my affinity for precipitation.

Reel Update

Updated my reel! Now with footage from a recent shoot I did for a USC graduate student. It's an ever-evolving endeavor, and (hopefully) I'll update it again fairly soon, as I'm waiting on copies from three additional projects.

70° and Jolly

Hello dear readers!

Here in the City of Angels it's beginning to look a lot like.... Autumn?

Our bizarro weather this year has contributed to some actual fall foliage, which is neat! Just a little weird that those colors pop up in mid-December...

Here's something a little more festive - Santa (aka Holly Jolly Wally) came to our office Christmas party! Pretty sweet!  He is the husband of one of our staff members, and yes that is his real beard.

As some of you might know, my dad is also a "real bearded" Santa in Fairbanks and North Pole, Alaska (no joke) so of course I had to size up this guy up... he did have some pretty sweet Santa gear, including a vintage sleigh and throne, but overall I've gotta give my dad in the edge in spirit... he really encapsulates that elusive Santa Claus charm and jollity! :) I might be biased.

11 on 11 :: December

Yep, ya'll... I missed out on yesterday's ten on ten, so I've made up with 11 on 11 (plus a bonus a photo, in the hopes that Santa will keep me off his 'naughty' list.) Today ended up being much more photogenic than yesterday though (including, as you see, our inaugural "LA Cheapskate Half Marathon" in Griffith Park), so maybe it was for the best! Enjoy!

Wow! 30 days of 'capturing my blessings' for the Ten on Ten Photojournal Project all wrapped up for Christmas. A very interesting way to document the month, that is for sure! Some are boring...some are fun.. some are pretty.... some not so much... but they're all there! Hope you enjoyed taking a peek into my life for the month.

As you can see we've been decking our halls and fa-la-la-la-la-ing up a storm here. We broke down this year and got ourselves a fake tree (oh the shame...) I know, it's practically a Christmas misdemeanor (a Christmasdemeanor, if you will) but it's what we did. I did learn recently about an organization in the PNW that 'rents' live trees out for the holidays - someday when we return north we'll definitely go that route, as that sounds like a pretty awesome idea to me. :)

I love December so much - always have - and I try every year to savor each day. It can be hard in the midst of all the holiday mayhem, plus day to day responsibilities, PLUS the fact that my eyes are fixed firmly on the prospect of an Evergreen Christmas, and being back home with family and friends!
