Wow, no blog since 10 on 10? Dismal... I must try to have more interesting things to write about!

In truth, life has been very unremarkable, in spite of the fact that I am actually being an actor for a living at the moment. I do the show and work, Chad works and works and works, and when we have time together we are very boring and like to simply be together, eat, watch movies or our favorite sitcoms online (so happy they are back!). It's a happy life, but just not very blog-able.

This past "weekend" however, I had an unheard of two days off from the show, so we took a trip up north to Belligham, to visit our beloved alma mater town. We love the 'Ham, and always will for so many reasons. Like the Archer, for instance. I will never love a pub as much as I love the Archer... I'm sure there are finer, more authentic English establishments out there, but the Archer is my first true love of pubs!

Our friend Andy ("P") was the comeback king in our game of darts...notice that "M" (me) hit the bottom of the barrel there at the end, and "PG" (Chad) had a staggering fall from grace to finish 2nd.

We spent most of our time either driving around remembering and visiting all our favorite places or hanging out at Andy's house (where we stayed) playing Rock Band, which is the best video game ever invented.

Diamond Jim's was a mandatory stop for breakfast. Our tiny little hole-in-the-wall diner, with that faux wood wall paper and mismatched coffee cups... I'm sure it hasn't changed in 10 years, which is incidentally how long it has been around. Well, I take that back. Apparently the "2-2-2" special used to actually be $2.22, but now it is $5.75. Still a great deal for 2 eggs, 2 pancakes and 2 strips of bacon or sausage. This place is absolutely packed to the gills every weekend, and most weekday mornings.

And finally, I just had to throw in a little glimpse of me at my first attempt at drums on Rock Band. I have to admit, I did okay, but I certainly lack the cool factor that most drummers exude. I think I'll stick to guitar, bass and singing. I should post the video of this...it really is pathetic.

Back at Intiman for show #2: This is Boo, one of Dennis the hairdresser/wardrobe master's doggies. Dennis is constantly making those cute little jackets for both the dogs, I'm sure they have hundreds of them by now, all in different patterns.. My scene 2 overcoat (and other vintage costume pieces)

I hope you enjoyed visiting me on a two show day. I have to admit it was hard to take pictures on schedule like I usually do, owing to the fact that we stay on stage the entire time (except for intermission.) Next month the 10th is another 2 show day, so you'll get even more "behind the scenes action"! Perhaps the water cooler! Or the green room! Or my box of socks!

Breakfast for Dinner

There's just nothing like it!

Chad is always in charge of scrambled eggs, whereas I handle the pancakes and turkey bacon. My pancake secret comes it two parts: 1: Snoqualmie Falls pancake mix. 2: As my mum taught me, cooking them in real butter, even when using a non-stick pan. I just love the crispy edges and extra, savory flavor they get! I will rarely order pancakes at restaurants, just because they never cook them the way I like to make them. And they are usually HUGE! In my head it is like I am eating a stack of floppy, mushy frisbees...

...doo-n-doo-doo!

The sun finally shows its lovely face for two days in a row, and I could not be happier. What is better after an extended winter than jumping into a sun filled car, rolling down the window and driving around with a good cd playing? I swear, it is only 52 degrees today and I seriously saw dozens of people out there driving with the same idea as me!

Days like this get me thinking about fresh starts, new life, second chances... It's sort of a wonder we make it a habit of choosing new year's resolutions in the dead of winter. I find it so much easier on days like this to committ to making choices to better my life, my outlook, my relationships... Speaking of fresh starts, if you didn't know, our place closed last Friday so we are officially no longer home owners. It's sort of a mixed bag of relief and shock, happiness and loss... We hope to be in a position to buy again someday, but of course right now that is not even on the back-burner, it's still defrosting in the fridge. It was a great feeling while it lasted, but the strain of double housing payments was certainly starting to takes it toll on us, and for that burden to be lifted is unimagineable freedom. Life seems a little more manageable financially, and I feel like when we return to LA we will have that right of way to really pursue our dreams.
